Celebrated New Year's Eve with our Dutch neighbours. With our two sons, both home for the holidays. The eldest has decided to finish school in the Netherlands, the youngest lives in Åndalsnes during the week because of his cookery training. So nice to have them at home. That they are no longer always so is sincerely the biggest downside of our Norway adventure.
Marijn can take inspiration from my neighbour. She had the most beautiful snacks, biscuits and, of course, oliebollen in great abundance. After a fierce shuffleboard competition, in which Dennis was unfortunately narrowly beaten by the neighbour, out for the fireworks. That turned out to be quite beautiful for such a small village. The real fireworks were given by the Northern Lights. Never seen such a spectacular show before. Beautiful green strips interspersed with red. A colour I didn't even know belonged to Northern Lights. I really stood and enjoyed.
