Who we are

Romsdal Feriesenter Drift AS (company registration no. 936 956 955), Rekdalsvegen 372, 6395 Rekdal, Norway. For enquiries regarding your personal data: info@fiskesenter.no. We are responsible for the data you provide to us via our website, the quotation and enquiry module, and your personal booking page.

What data and for what purpose

  • An enquiry or booking: your name, email address and/or telephone number, country of residence, and – if you provide it – your address, the number of people (including children), your arrival date and time, your choices (accommodation, boat, excursions, extras) and your message. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, to organise your stay and to issue an invoice. Legal basis: the (preparation of the) contract with you.
  • Your personal booking page (the link in our email): there you can fill in your own details, such as your address, a company name and VAT number for the invoice, and – for boats over 25 pk – the name and year of birth of the person operating the boat and whether they hold a boating licence. We ask for the latter because Norwegian law requires a boating licence for anyone born in 1980 or later. The link remains active for up to four weeks after your stay.
  • Invoices and payments: we retain these for as long as required by Norwegian accounting law (five years after the end of the financial year). Basis: legal obligation.
  • Statistics for the government: We pass on the number of overnight stays by country of residence to Statistics Norway (SSB), without names. If you hire a boat for fishing, we record this in accordance with the Norwegian regulations on recreational fishing (Fiskeridirektoratet). Basis: legal obligation.
  • How to use the pricing module: we track the actions visitors take (which data and pages they view, and whether they submit an enquiry), the page, the language, the time zone, the type of device and their approximate location (country, region, town, derived from the IP address). We only store a truncated version of the IP address itself, so that it cannot be traced back to you. To achieve this, the module places a random number in your browser’s session storage, which disappears when you close the tab. We do not use cookies, nor do we use any advertising or tracking services. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the website and the module.
  • Security: our server keeps technical log files (containing IP addresses) to help us identify malfunctions and misuse. These are automatically overwritten after a short period of time.

Who we share data with

Only with those with whom it is necessary for the purposes of your stay or as required by law, and we never sell data:

  • our hosting provider (one.com / dogado, with servers in the EU), where the booking module is hosted;
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365) for our email;
  • Fiken, our accounting software in Norway, for invoices;
  • Beds24 and Booking.com, but only if you book via Booking.com;
  • Teltow tour operator, but only if you book through them;
  • the Norwegian government (SSB, the Directorate of Fisheries), as mentioned above.

Microsoft may process data outside the EEA; in such cases, the EU’s standard contractual clauses apply.

How long

  • A request that does not result in a booking: no later than 12 months.
  • A booking: for as long as it is active and, thereafter, for as long as required by accounting legislation (five years). We will only retain your name and contact details after that if you return or give us your consent to do so.
  • The statistics from the pricing module: without full IP addresses, shown only as totals.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted (provided we are not legally required to retain it), restrict its processing, object to its processing, and receive your data in a commonly used format. Please email us: info@fiskesenter.no. If you do not agree with us, you can lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet (www.datatilsynet.no).

Security

The website and the module only work via an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The admin area is secure, we take a backup every hour, and we monitor the server.
