A sign of life!

Time seems to fly by like a blur. Another season over already, our third season! Each season better than the last, always new people, new things to learn and new impressions. In my head, it's a bit of a blur.

Before we started, I wasn't sure how I would like it, all those people on your property. I like peace and quiet. Here, there is so much peace and quiet that it's just really nice to have guests. People who have a good time with us. Discovering Norway, boating and fishing; just having fun. Actually, my head is not so much a blur, it's more that I am always in this moment, which makes the rest seem further away.

I also learnt so much about myself. Even as a child, I loved changing my room. I love thinking about how I want our flats and grounds to be. It does take a lot of time to actually make it happen. But one step every day and you get there. Unfolding and developing ideas is hugely satisfying. Nice and busy outside. The exterior of the White House is almost finished. It has become so incredibly beautiful. Dennis can really make what he wants. This spring, with the help of my father-in-law and my cousin Stijn and his friends, we replaced the roof. A true transformation. And to think Dennis is afraid of heights. He is my hero.

With it getting so nice, we have plans to rent it out next year. Inside, all sorts of things still need to be done. Moreover, we need facilities for the campers. We want to turn the Stabur (the little house on our property) into a place for campervans. That will be quite some work.

It is certainly also important to enjoy some well-earned rest. After replacing the roof, we steamed right into the season. We were running on our gums at the end, though. We also bought a camper van this summer. To rent out, but also to enjoy ourselves. We've been on the road with it a couple of times now. Fun with the boys. But also together, for example a night on the Trollstigen. Because we had to be in Åndalsnes 2 days in a row for Marijn's school. Trollstigen in autumn foliage is really more than beautiful. It certainly feels like the good Norwegian life.

We are looking forward to the new season and hope to welcome you! On the site, also read about all the possibilities for day trips and hikes, as there is much more to do here than just fishing and boating. Or click here for our digital travel guide.
